What We Offer Referrers

Services for Your Referring Providers

Whether you need diagnostic clarity, medication initiation, or stabilization, we handle the work and report back to you.

Psychiatric Evaluation & Diagnostic Clarification
Thorough psychiatric evaluation when the clinical picture is unclear. We assess symptom presentation, medical and psychiatric history, current medications, and functional impact to establish a clear diagnosis and treatment plan.
ADHD Evaluation with QbCheck
Comprehensive ADHD assessment including FDA-cleared objective testing (continuous performance test). Diagnostic clarity for both children and adults, regardless of past diagnostic uncertainty.
Medication Stabilization & Handoff
We evaluate, start or adjust medication, titrate to therapeutic dose, monitor for side effects, and stabilize the patient. Once stable, ongoing management returns to you with clear documentation and dosing guidance.
Ongoing Medication Management
For patients who need long-term psychiatric medication management beyond PCP scope. We maintain continuity and ensure medication efficacy and safety.

The Process

How It Works

Simple, straightforward process from referral to communication and coordination.

1
Refer Your Patient
No formal referral form required. Your patient books directly or you can suggest they contact us. Clinical notes are welcome — simply email them to info@wellnessalaska.com or fax to (907) 865-2433.
2
Evaluation
Comprehensive psychiatric evaluation (60 minutes). We review records you provide, conduct a thorough interview, and establish a working diagnosis.
3
Communication
With patient consent, we send evaluation findings, diagnosis, treatment plan, and any medication recommendations back to you. You stay in the loop.
4
Coordination or Handoff
Ongoing management as needed, or stabilization with return to your care. Patient stays on your panel; you get them back with clear guidance.

The PCP Titration Handoff Model

Why Many PCPs Use This Approach

Many PCPs are comfortable maintaining stable psychiatric medications but prefer a specialist for the initial evaluation, diagnosis, and stabilization phase. This is sensible — psychiatric medication initiation often requires more frequent follow-up, dose adjustments, side effect monitoring, and diagnostic refinement than a standard office visit allows. The PCP titration handoff model distributes this work according to each provider's expertise and capacity.

We do the heavy lifting: evaluate the patient, make a diagnosis, start or adjust medication, titrate to therapeutic dose, monitor for side effects and drug interactions, manage initial adherence challenges, and stabilize the patient. Once stable — typically 6–12 weeks depending on the medication and patient factors — ongoing management returns to you. You get the patient back on a clear, stable regimen with documented dosing, titration history, side effect profile, and monitoring schedule. No guesswork.

The patient stays on your panel throughout. There's no loss of continuity from the patient's perspective. They see us for a focused medication evaluation and stabilization, then return to your care for long-term management. You maintain the relationship and the primary care coordination. We handle the specialist work and report back with clear documentation.
